Designing for Viewer Engagement on Social-Media Platforms
When it comes to finding an audience for video content on social-media platforms, the problem for media companies isn't so much one of making that video discoverable, but rather one of how best to deliver and present it to the viewer via the latter's social feeds--and then, once the viewer has been engaged by that video, how to maintain their engagement with additional related content (i.e. how to "get that second click" and thus ensure an "onward user journey").
This session, which brings together a panel of prominent design and social-media experts, will explore from a design/user-experience (UX) perspective how best to create and maintain engagement with video content on social-media platforms--a question which, of course, is complicated by the fact that that the delivery and presentation of that content needs to take into account the unique UX of each platform. Among other highlights, panelists will reveal statistics illustrating how CNN's design efforts are enabling viewer engagement across multiple social-media services. Panelists include:
