Jonathan Carson is an executive and entrepreneur with 20 years experience in digital media, across social, mobile, video and big data.   Carson was most recently Chief Revenue Officer of The Trade Desk, the top independent advertising technology company in the world, where he led a 600 person global commercial team which delivered over $600 million in net revenues and over 40% topline growth.  Prior to that, Carson was CRO at Vevo, the world’s #1 music property and Youtube’s largest content partner, where he more than doubled revenue in three years. Before Vevo, he spent six years with The Nielsen Company where he helped spearhead the company’s digital transformation. As CEO, Digital, Carson led Nielsen’s digital and mobile strategy and operations across more than 70 countries. An accomplished entrepreneur, Carson was previously co-founder and CEO of BuzzMetrics, the world’s leading social media intelligence company, which he sold to Nielsen in 2007. While at BuzzMetrics, Carson helped establish the concept of social media with marketers, including co-founding the Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA), which has since become a thriving trade association which is now part of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA).  Carson is co-founder and Chair of ANTENNA, a startup which launched in 2020 and is quickly establishing itself as the market standard for measurement of Streaming services.  ANTENNA is backed by The Raine Groupe.  Carson has also been Chair of Superdata (acquired by Nielsen) and Snaps (acquired by Quiq), and was a long-time advisor to leading millennial news company, Mic, where he also helped out in an operational capacity as President.  His advisory and investment portfolio has also included digital media companies like Innovid, Criteo, ZEFR, Tubular, Telefonica, Flashstock (acquired by Shutterstock), and Pro Football Focus. Carson is a frequent speaker on digital topics at conferences (Mobile World Congress, Cannes, CES), on broadcast (CNN, CBS, NPR) and in print (Wired, Wall Street Journal, NY Times).
