Anna Schecter is the Senior Producer of the NBC News Investigative Unit.  She regularly breaks news on special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and is a regular contributor to MSNBC. Schecter is an award-winning investigative journalist who has covered stories ranging from dangerous Navy helicopters to corrupt State Department programs to Chinese cyber espionage while at NBC. Prior to NBC, she worked at ABC News where she won a Peabody, a George Polk, and two Emmy awards among others for her reporting on rape and sexual assault of Peace Corps volunteers. Schecter has been nominated for a cumulative nine Emmy awards during her career. Schecter specializes in international investigations, and her stories have included hidden camera work in China, Bangladesh, and Gabon. Her work ranges from two-minute reports on Nightly News to full prime-time hours for Dateline NBC.  Schecter completed her graduate work in Nanjing, China, at the Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies Chinese Studies program where all of her coursework was done in Mandarin. She graduated summa cum laude from Middlebury College in Vermont with a degree in Chinese and French. She joined NBC News in 2011 and is based in New York City.
