As Senior Vice President, Product, Content and Operations, Discovery Digital Media, Guhan Selvaretnam develops and executes programming and product strategies for Discovery?s Digital Media business. Leading the digital content and product teams across the company?s U.S. digital portfolio, Selvaretnam works closely with Discovery?s advertising sales team to create innovative, high value advertising and sponsorship opportunities across all of the company?s digital properties.  

At Turner Broadcasting, Inc. since April 2007, Selvaretnam led Turner?s internal innovation and incubation group and was responsible for launching and operating new businesses, products and capabilities leveraging Turner brands, including CNN, Cartoon Network, TBS, TNT, Turner Sports and Adult Swim.  During his tenure there, he and his team founded 'The Frisky', a website that became a top five women?s lifestyle site, and played an integral role in the launch of Turner?s own digital advertising network. Selvaretnam and team also developed SportsNow, a real time sports iPhone application, TVinContext, an industry-first advertising innovation that delivers contextual advertising on-air packages across TBS and TNT, and CNNGo, a Hong Kong based lifestyle and travel site targeting local affluent audiences in Asia.  As part of his position reporting to Turner?s Vice Chairman, Selvaretnam also played a role in informing Turner?s TV Everywhere strategy.

Previously, Selvaretnam served as Vice President at Reuters Group where he managed product, marketing and operations for the company?s US digital media business and oversaw the launch and rapid growth of a range of advertising supported and paid products.

Selvaretnam holds a bachelor?s degree from Tufts University and an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
