Bob Perry
Bob Perry is a senior vice-president with Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company (PCEC) located in Secaucus NJ, part of Panasonic Corporation, a world leader in display and consumer electronics products and related technologies. He is responsible for PCECs US marketing, e-commerce, SCM and strategic initiatives including 3D and business process innovation. Bob also served as EVP PCEC and senior vice-president of Panasonics Display Company, joining the company in January 2008.
Bob is a CE industry veteran, serving in many executive roles in the industry. Prior to joining Panasonic, Bob was vice-president, Americas for Logitech, responsible for the companys business operations in North and South America. He also served LG Electronics, as the senior US executive leading the launch of its brand and business operations in the US for consumer electronics, from inception to 2006. He came to LG after seven years with Mitsubishi as the vice-president of marketing, responsible for the marketing, product development, government affairs and national retailer training organizations. Prior to joining Mitsubishi in 1997, Bob was with Sharp Electronics Corporation for six years, where he completed his tenure as the head of the Consumer LCD Products Division. Bob has also held zone manager and regional manager sales positions with Sharp Electronics.
Prior to joining Sharp, Bob was the general manager and controller of Argo Furniture Corporation, as well as teaching economics, computer science and management at several colleges. Bob is also a decorated US Army retiree and retiree, serving in military intelligence, communications and engineering.
Bob holds a bachelors degree in business administration from Columbia College and a masters degree in management from Webster University in St. Louis.
Bob has served in a variety of industry roles, as a director of the CEA executive board and the chair of the CEA video division board. He has chaired the CEA DTV Definitions Committee (twice), as well as the CEA DTV Transition Policy & Strategy working group, the CEA 1394 Interface Working Group and CEA DTV Picture Format Working group.
Bob also served as the CE Industry co-chair of the Broadcast Flag Discussion Group and the CE Industry chief negotiator for the national Plug and Play CE/Cable agreement and regulations. He also served as a director on the board of the Home Recording Rights Coalition, as well as a member of the steering committee, testifying before congress at numerous hearings and committees. In addition, Bob has been a director of the Home Audio Video Interoperabilty (HAVi) Corporation board.
