Peter Yared
Peter Yared is the Founder & CEO at Transpond, and has 15 years of experience helping companies adapt new technology platforms. Peter was most recently the Founder and CEO at ActiveGrid, a commercial open source company delivering the LAMP stack to the enterprise. Previously, he was CTO of Sun Microsystems' Liberty Network Identity initiative. Peter was also CTO of Sun Microsystems' Application Server Division. Before its acquisition by Sun, Peter served as CTO of NetDynamics, which pioneered the then-leading J2EE application server. Earlier, he was Founder and CEO of JRad Technologies, an enterprise Java company acquired by NetDynamics. Peter holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.
Dave Habiger
Dave Habiger has served as president and CEO of Sonic Solutions since April 2005. A leader in digital media software, Sonics products range from advanced authoring systems used to produce Hollywood DVD and Blu-ray Disc titles to award-winning consumer applications and services. During his tenure, the companys product portfolio expanded to include the Roxio CinemaNow platform with innovative technologies and services to enable the digital distribution and enjoyment of premium video entertainment.
Mr. Habiger has held various roles at Sonic since joining the company in its early stages in 1993, including being general manager of the companys largest division, the Desktop Products Group (now the Roxio Division). Prior to joining Sonic, Habiger was a product manager at the Roscor Corporation, a leading provider of professional video, audio, multimedia and computer-based products and services. He was also a founder of Providence Productions, a media production company. Habiger holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.B.A from St. Norbert College in DePere, WI.
Bob Perry
Bob Perry is a senior vice-president with Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company (PCEC) located in Secaucus NJ, part of Panasonic Corporation, a world leader in display and consumer electronics products and related technologies. He is responsible for PCECs US marketing, e-commerce, SCM and strategic initiatives including 3D and business process innovation. Bob also served as EVP PCEC and senior vice-president of Panasonics Display Company, joining the company in January 2008.
Bob is a CE industry veteran, serving in many executive roles in the industry. Prior to joining Panasonic, Bob was vice-president, Americas for Logitech, responsible for the companys business operations in North and South America. He also served LG Electronics, as the senior US executive leading the launch of its brand and business operations in the US for consumer electronics, from inception to 2006. He came to LG after seven years with Mitsubishi as the vice-president of marketing, responsible for the marketing, product development, government affairs and national retailer training organizations. Prior to joining Mitsubishi in 1997, Bob was with Sharp Electronics Corporation for six years, where he completed his tenure as the head of the Consumer LCD Products Division. Bob has also held zone manager and regional manager sales positions with Sharp Electronics.
Michael Fink
Michael Finks work bridges media research, machine learning and cognitive science. Michael initiated the YouTube interactive video annotations project, which in the last year became a major driving force in making YouTube videos truly interactive. Previously, Michael worked at Google Research, focusing on various media projects such as the mass personalization of broadcast television. His PhD research at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem focuses on large scale object recognition in humans and machines, generating publications ranging from machine learning, and artificial intelligence to cognitive science and economics. Recently, Michael originated a new academic program integrating computer science and design studies in Jerusalem, which spawned innovative projects, such as: "GooGoo-Images" (an environment enabling babies to surf Google Images) and "Make-a-Movie-on-the-Move" (an Android based video editor).
Clayton Banks
Clayton Banks is the Founder, President and Executive Producer of Ember Media Corporation. He has been a pioneer in the cable and communications industry for over two decades. He leads the vision for Ember Media, a development group that builds digital solutions and interactive applications for entertainment and advertising brands across multiple platforms. Known as a pragmatic visionary, Banks has developed and deployed applications for the mobile platform, network cloud, gaming consoles, social media and currently have developed a suite of apps for Interactive Television.
Banks has implemented multi-platform strategies for Prudential, New York Institute of Technology, United Technologies, Pacific Islanders in Communications, Dennys, Scholastic, and other top brands. He has produced multimedia and broadband content for Discovery Networks, MTV, HBO, Pepsi, Bloomberg TV, Showtime Networks, Bermuda tourism, the British Tourist Authority, Monaco Tourism, and countless other companies and organizations around the world.
Banks has worked with former President of the United States Bill Clinton to publish a first-of-its-kind interactive college guide series called "The Key", on CD-ROM, that targets underserved communities. The Key was featured on Larry King Live, NY1, Univision, and several other media outlets around the country.
Patrick Gates
As CEO Patrick Gates is responsible for the overall strategy of the company along with the development of key strategic and distribution deals. He is a senior executive with over 20 years diverse experience and a proven track record in e-commerce, digital products, television shopping, marketing and media. Prior to icueTV, Mr. Gates was President and General Manager of Discovery Commerce, Discovery Communications' retail division, where he successfully led the turnaround and expansion of the Licensing and Retail businesses, including T-Commerce. Before Discovery, he was with AOL Time Warner, where as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Commerce, Mr. Gates led the company's direct marketing and Transactional businesses including Retail, Travel, Autos, Real Estate and Classifieds. Prior to that, Mr. Gates was Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Programming at the Home Shopping Network, and held senior positions with QVC, Barneys New York and Neiman Marcus.
Braxton Jarratt
Braxton Jarratt has driven innovation and growth in senior management roles with technology and media companies, most recently as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Tandberg Television (an Ericsson Company) where he led the rapid expansion of the company into the North American television market and video on demand (VOD) software business. There he launched and secured key customers for Tandberg's pioneering television distribution, management and advertising products, contributing to the acquisition of Tandberg by Ericsson for $1.2 billion in 2007. Braxton joined Tandberg through their $120 million acquisition of venture-backed startup N2 Broadband, where he drove key deployments of the company's on-demand software in nearly every VOD site in North America. Previously, Braxton worked at Cox as director of product strategy for the cable division and GM in the interactive media division, where he launched the first broadband internet content service in partnership with @Home. Braxton's first tech startup experience was as the head of commercial services with Primenet, an internet startup purchased by GlobalCenter. Braxton received his Bachelor's degree in engineering from Dartmouth College.
Maitreyi Krishnaswamy
Maitreyi has led Interactive Video Services Product Development at FiOS TV since 2006, launching over 25 ITV applications that currently reach millions of FiOS TV viewers.
Maitreyi Krishnaswamy has been responsible for launching a number of innovative cable industry firsts including the launch of an EBIF based Summer Olympics ITV application for NBC in 2008 , Social TV Widgets Facebook and Twitter in July 2009 and the launch of the FiOS TV Widgets Open development platform in Oct 2009.
The Widgets platform allows video content partners, advertisers and game developers to generate new revenue streams by creating and deploying their own applications on Widget Bazaar FiOS TVs newly launched application store. New applications take between 6-12 weeks from concept to launch. This is a record within the US cable industry where a 6- 12 month cycle is traditionally required to launch ITV applications.
Recent projects include the launch of the NFL Red Zone and NBA sports widgets with self provisioning features, HSN Shop by Remote widget, NBC Winter Olympics iTV application, FiOS Mobile Remote an innovative feature where Verizon smart phones become advanced FiOS TV remotes.
Prior to Maitreyis work in Verizon iTV, she worked as a technology strategy consultant in the consulting firm PRTM.
