Lisa Murphy
Lisa Murphy is the marketing manager at metaio, a leading augmented reality technology provider. In her current endeavor, she leads the strategic direction, communication, and business development efforts for metaio North America as well as metaios mobile augmented reality platform, junaio.
As one of the leading providers for professional cutting-edge Augmented Reality software since 2003, metaio has produced: wordwides first Online campaign, first adoption of AR in Live-Marketing and the first fully integrated AR mobile application. With over 300 renown clients and partners as; Adidas, MINI Cooper, LEGO, Popular Science, Universal Orlando Resort, Volkswagen etc. metaio serves various industries with its products and services; industrial, marketing, retail and e-commerce.
Prior to metaio, Lisa worked at a variety of financial services and consulting firms, providing strategic, operational, and financial management consulting to companies in the financial, retail, and consumer products industries. Lisa holds a Bachelors Degree in business administration from University of California, Berkeley. She lives on the mantra: Live to eat and enjoys Black and White photography.
Edgar Villalpando
Edgar Villalpando joined ActiveVideo in 2008 and is responsible for overseeing the messaging and marketing of ActiveVideo® as a business- and consumer-facing brand. Edgars extensive media and consumer products experience includes executive positions with HBO and DIRECTV, and as general manager of THUMP, an agency that develops and markets branded content through a combination of traditional and interactive platforms. With HBO, Edgar served as vice president, new media and business development for the programmers international group, with specific responsibility for expanding linear and new media properties into new territories. Edgar previously had served as vice president, marketing for HBO, driving and managing international marketing and communications efforts for the HBO and Cinemax brands. With DIRECTV from 1999-2004, Edgar first served as director, marketing and advertising with a focus on supporting the satellite providers international programming within United States multicultural markets. Later, he served as director, advertising and brand management with responsibility for DirecTVs domestic brands and associated markets.
Edgar began his career in advertising in the agency world, working on blue-chip brands such as Ford, Miller Brewing, Mobil Oil, Wesson Oil, and several other accounts. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA.
Jared Iwata
Jared Iwata is the Director of Advertising Sales Strategy at Verizon FiOS TV. He is responsible for leading the development of strategy surrounding emerging advertising formats on FiOS TV including Dynamic Ad Insertion in Video On Demand and Interactive 30-second advertisements. In addition, Jared supports the deployment of multi-platform advertising initiatives spanning Verizon Wireless and Verizon Online.
Prior to joining Verizon, Jared was a member of the Microsoft Digital Advertising Platform team. He was responsible for the deployment of new advertising products spanning multiple lines of business including email, messaging, blogging, and gaming. Most notably, he led the launch of Microsoft Themes which allowed branded advertisers to deliver a personalized consumer experience.
Jared started his career as an entrepreneur in the Silicon Valley and currently sits on the advisory board of Infodome Inc. He is also the co-chair of the IAB Interactive Television Committee.
Andrew Keen
Andrew Keen is an author and new media entrepreneur. He is the author of the international hit CULT OF THE AMATEUR: How the Internet is killing our culture. Acclaimed by The New York Times Michiko Kakutani as having been written with acuity and passion and by A.N. Wilson in the London Daily Mail as staggering, Cult of the Amateur has been published in sixteen different language editions and was short-listed for the 2008 Highams Business Technology Book of the Year award.
As a pioneering Internet entrepreneur, Andrew founded Audiocafe.com in 1995 and built it into a popular first generation Internet music company. He was the executive producer of the new media show MB5 2000 and, between 2001 and 2007, worked as a executive at several Silicon Valley based technology start-ups including Pulse, Santa Cruz Networks, Pure Depth and afterTV. Andrew was educated at London University where he was awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Modern History, as a British Council Fellow at the University of Sarajevo and at the University of California at Berkeley here he earned a Masters Degree in Political Science. Andrew is currently writing a second book entitled DIGITAL VERTIGO: Anxiety, Loneliness and Inequality in the Social Media Age which will be published in 2011 by St Martins Press.
