Guy Tennant
Guy Tennant has spent more than 15 years in the pay-media industry, the last of which have been heading up Entriq (acquired by Irdeto in 2008). Prior to Entriq he worked at BSkyB in the United Kingdom, where he led the Sky Interactive technology team. Before that, at Irdeto Access, Guy's engineering team developed the worlds first MPEG2 DVB based Digital TV launches in Australia, South Africa, and Thailand in 1995. He occupied the roles of VP of Engineering & VP Product Management from 1996 to 2000, and was instrumental in producing Irdeto's 2nd generation security systems. His undergraduate and postgraduate Engineering degrees were obtained at The University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg South Africa.
Jim Elayan
Jim Elayan brings 18 years of Cable TV and telecommunications experience as well as creative cross-industry marketing and business development experience to itaas. In 1991, Jim joined Scientific - Atlanta in launching one of the earliest multimedia experiences widely available through cable TV, Digital Music Express (DMX). This led to a marketing role in the launch of video games through cable TV via the Sega Channel. Though these experiences were several years ago, they helped set the stage for many of the subsequent interactive platforms possible through the advanced digital networks being utilized today.
Jim left S-A in 2002 to participate in a series of private equity-funded company transactions and served as Vice President of Marketing for firms both in and out of the telecommunications industry. At this time, he started a small marketing and business development consulting practice that specializes in leveraging web-based resources for lead generation and business growth. Interactive marketing and the emergence of social networking venues, as well as the convergence of web content and traditional CATV media, made Jim start thinking about the next wave of opportunities for interactivity via digital networks.
Paul Haddad
Paul Haddad joined Concurrent in 2009 as Vice President & General Manager of the companys media data and advanced advertising solutions.
Mr. Haddad brings more than 15 years experience in the telecommunications and data and information management industries. Prior to joining Concurrent, he was the president and chairman of Solusia, a turnkey wireless deployment and automated program management firm. Prior to this entrepreneurial venture, Mr. Haddad served in various global management roles at Nortels Optical Networks business unit. His responsibilities ranged from systems engineering and design, product line management, sales and marketing, and general management of the wireless backhaul solutions division. Mr. Haddad holds patents in the bandwidth trading and in the information management data engines domains. His creativity in the technology and business domains earned him the nomination and election in 2003 and in 2004 to the Frost & Sullivan Sales & Marketing Thought Leader award within the telecommunications industry.
Mr. Haddad holds a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Concordia University and has served since 2003 as a member of the board of trustees at Wagner College in New York City.
Frank Sandoval
Frank Sandoval joined CableLabs in 2001 to lead the OpenCable Applications Platform (OCAP) Specification effort, part of the tru2way platform. OCAP is now deployed into several millions households throughout the US, and continues to grow as the Cable industry provides advanced receivers to customers. Frank also served as the technical in the development of the ETV (EBIF) specifications, which enable interactive television programming for millions of existing and advanced cable receivers. Most recently, Frank has led efforts to define an interoperable platform for a number of next-generation cable services, including addressable and interactive advertising, and comprehensive service measurement.
Frank has over 25 years experience developing software and systems for the consumer entertainment industries. As a Computer Science student at the University of New Mexico, he designed and developed interactive computer graphics museum exhibits, and then joined a pioneer in computer-based professional learning systems. He later became one of the first technical members of the staff of American Interactive Media, a Philips/Polygram subsidiary developing applications for the CD-I platform. In the ensuing years, Frank developed video games for the likes of 3D0 and Electronic Arts, and working on advanced graphics solutions for the web.
Mr. Sandoval has published numerous articles in technical journals, is a frequent panelist at industry events, and in 2006 received the Award for Leadership in Interactive Television from Interactive TV Today.
Brian Seth Hurst
Brian Seth Hurst is CEO of The Opportunity Management Company, a strategic consultancy and cross media production company that is driving the next generation of entertainment. Referred to as the father of cross platform, Hurst coined the term in 1998 as MD of Convergent Media at Pittard Sullivan, where he launched TV Guide as the first ever cross platform brand. Hurst's credo, go to where your audience lives is transforming the relationship of audiences to programming.
TOMC has assisted broadcast clients in extending their programming to audiences and building communities on new platforms. Clients have included: Showtime, Lifetime, SVT (Swedish Pubic Television, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, NBCUniversal, Les Mills Fitness and AOL as well as successful start-ups including Nixle and Paltalk. Hurst was on the team that developed the original user experience for TiVo and currently sits on the advisory boards of MobiTV, Zannel and Nixle. He is currently at work on Tim Krings (creator of Heroes) next project code named Teva.
