Lotus Substrates For 4K Key Focus Of New Corning Division

Corning formed a development group dedicated to high-performance displays, including 4K, OLED and TFT-oxide technologies, Corning Chief Technology Officer Peter Bocko told us at the TV of Tomorrow Show in New York. Much of the group’s work will involve Corning’s Lotus substrates, which in the case of 4K will be produced at higher temperatures to increase "dimensional" stability, Bocko said. The so-called annealing temperature in the case of some versions of Lotus glass can range up to 800 degrees, he said.
